Paul Lee, MD, PhD, Vice President of Pediatric and Rare Diseases at Clintrex, is serving as acting Chief Regulatory Officer of AEON Biopharma and brings extensive regulatory, clinical development and neuroscience expertise to the Company. Dr. Lee spent more than seven years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where he held multiple leadership positions within the Office of New Drugs’ neuroscience review divisions. Most recently, he served as Deputy Director of the Office of Neuroscience, overseeing the FDA divisions responsible for the regulation of therapies across a broad range of neurological and psychiatric disorders, including migraine, movement disorders, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and neurodegenerative diseases. He also served as Director of the Division of Neurology 2.

Prior to joining the FDA, Dr. Lee was a staff clinician at the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health, where he served as a principal investigator for clinical trials in rare diseases, conducted laboratory research and provided neurology consultation across the NIH.

Dr. Lee earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland. He completed residency training in pediatrics and child neurology, including at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a fellowship in neuroimmunology at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.
